News from our CEO, Gai

 

It's nice to be home after a few weeks living out of my suitcase! August saw me jetting to Fiji for the Jetset Travelworld Conference where the Sabre team had great fun manning the booth and meeting with everyone. We hope you enjoyed our chocolates and lip balms!

This was followed by a trip to Singapore where I met with the Sabre Asia Pacific leaders at our Regional Meeting. This provided a forum for us to reflect on the year gone by and discuss our plans and direction for 2008-2009 year.

 

On behalf of the Team here, a big Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there for Sunday. We hope you enjoy it and we look forward to seeing you in October!

Book Air, Car, & Hotel with Sabre Online

 

We are excited to announce that a new functionality will be implemented in Sabre Online version 4.0 allowing agents to book Air, Car, and Hotel segments simultaneously and receive the search results in the same screen.


The benefits of this new feature include reduced response time and the ability to complete multi-travel-type bookings much quicker.

Reset your password with the Password Management Tool

 

Did you know you can reset your password yourself using the Password Management Tool (PMT)?

 

Using previously established security questions and answers or an email address, PMT allows you to reset expired or temporary passwords quickly and easily.

We are pleased to announce that you will soon be able to make reservations and ticket bookings with V Australia using Sabre Direct Ticketing.

AccesRail joins list of participating Electronic Ticketing Carriers

 

Effective immediately, AccesRail (9B) is the latest carrier to provide E-Ticketing (ET) for Sabre Connected Agents. Accesrail is an IATA member formed by a group of partner and participating railways. AccesRail enables you to book real-time rail inventories in an airline style.

 

ET on AccesRail is fully interactive with ET issuance, as well as the ability to Void, Exchange, Refund and Revalidate transactions.

 

With the IATA initiative to move to 100% ET, Sabre continues to provide all travel agency partners with the most comprehensive content for our region and the world on just one screen.

 

Air Uganda and Atlasjet enhance their availability connection with Sabre

Effective immediately, Sabre is pleased to announce that Air Uganda (U7) and Atlasjet (KK) will participate as a Direct Connect Availability carrier within Sabre.
 
Direct Connect Availability represents the highest participation level in connectivity in the Sabre system. With Direct Connect Availability, an interactive message between the Sabre system and the participating airline enables seamless, "real-time" access to the airline inventory during the availability process and allows last-seat inventory displays.

These changes now make booking U7 and KK via Sabre very efficient and will ensure increased productivity and increased confidence in the availability display.

Handy Hints

Dupliate Segments

Please be reminded that airlines do not allow duplicate reservations when the passenger will only use one of the bookings.

A duplicate segment is defined as a reservation/s that a passenger physically cannot travel, whether booked direct with the airline/s or by the same or different agencies.

Duplicate segments are subject to cancellation by the airline and will need to be re-booked in the system.

Advising Ticket Numbers

When issuing a ticket in the Sabre GDS, please check the *H3 field to see if the carrier participates in the auto generation of ticket numbers. If not, you'll need to find out the format as advised by the carrier located at N/*Ticket Numbers.
